EBRU NAKAMURA is a contemporary artist who aims to reflect the fluidity, dynamism and contradictions of life and human experience in her work.

In my paintings, I strive to create a different form of expression by stepping outside the traditional usage of forms and colors I enjoy incorporating organic, fluid, and spontaneously emerging forms in the paintings I start spontaneously. The human eye can perceive its surroundings within a narrow electromagnetic spectrum range; environmental perception and the interpretation of life are entirely shaped by personal experiences. The workings of the mind and its responses are based on predictions. People generally accept widely acknowledged facts as reality; however, in reality, there is no objective reality as we understand it. All of this creates an extremely liberating ground for expressing the thoughts and feelings I want to convey. The movement, flow, excitement, or stillness of everything in the universe, the contrasts and harmonies, the changing and transforming of forms and colors—all these processes are, in my belief, the building blocks of the experience we call life.
